Hello!

I'm Paul, a UK (Leicester) based writer, photographer. This website functions as a commonplace book of sorts, covering my interests in both.

I make pictures using a variety of different formats and media, with a particular interest in alternative and historic photographic processes. I am particularly interested in the relationship between photopgraphy and memory and how we use these different surfaces to examine our own relationship to the world, both seen and unseen.

My blog covers an ecclectic range of topics, and includes extracts from my Tram Diaries, describing the absurd, sometimes comical encounters that have been a feature of my tram commute.

Synchronicity

There’s a line somewhere in the Philip K Dick biography I read earlier this year that says that the more PKD you read, the more synchronicities begin to appear. Minor milestone

It takes me about a year to fill one of these extended 400 page Moleskine notebooks. I use it as a general purpose journal, a place for thoughts of varying dubious quality, occasional recipes, diary entries (when I can remember), notes on this or that, quotes, reference lookups, random marginalia, mental bric-a-brac.
